Ukrainian students pay significantly less tuition fee next year

Ukrainian students at universities of applied sciences will pay the same amount in tuition fees as Dutch students next year: 2,209 euros. This was announced today by the Association of Universities of Applied Sciences. These students normally pay the much higher institutional rate for non-EU students of 7,800 euros. This is to give the Ukrainian students "the opportunity to continue their education here," according to association president Maurice Limmen.

In doing so, the universities of applied sciences – and thus Saxion - are following the universities, which announced on May 17 that they would lower tuition fees.

Both the universities and now the universities of applied sciences have decided to lower the tuition fees themselves and are bearing the costs. They continue to press the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science for compensation.

The reduction of tuition fees for Ukrainian students applies to next year. In addition, the universities of applied sciences continue to support students who have come into acute financial distress because of the war, the association announced. They do this, for example, by handing out
