Foundation Noot voor Nood donates 5.000 euros to Saxion for Ukraine
The aid action Saxion for Ukraine will receive five thousand euros from the Noot voor Nood foundation from Oldenzaal. This foundation raised a large amount in March and April through musical events. Treasurer Peter Rouwhorst: “Noot voor Nood focuses on regional aid, preferably for young people. So we find the same objective. As a board, we therefore opted for this contribution, which will enable at least two students to continue their studies next year.”
Last week Rouwhorst saw the article in regional newspaper Tubantia about the Ukrainian students who painted the glass front of the Ko Wierenga building. “I immediately caught on to that,” he says. “We discussed the idea with the board and it soon became clear that we wanted to support Saxion for Ukraine.”
The Noot voor Nood foundation has been around for twenty years and holds a musical event for charity every year. This year it was for aid to Ukrainian refugees. For example, the proceeds were used to buy an digital whiteboard and Ukrainian textbooks, bicycles and the transport of food parcels. “We prefer to spend the money collected on projects that are as concrete as possible,” says Rouwhorst.

Diversity Officer verdwijnt: “Maar dit is juist een volgende stap”
In de nieuwe organisatie is geen plaats meer voor het Diversity Office in zijn huidige vorm: de functie van Diversity Officer is opgeheven. Dat is ‘opvallend waar het gaat om de ambities van Saxion’ én levert zorgen op. “Is er straks nog wel een centraal aanspreekpunt op dit vlak?”
