Academy ACT donates 500 euros to Saxion for Ukraine
The 25 students and teachers of the Fashion & Textile Technologies program already collected 1,100 euros with 'Make Bags not War'. That amount went to Giro 555. But a post-order, worth 500 euros, had yet to find a destination. "When we saw the benefit Saxion for Ukraine, we immediately knew: this is the destination," says ACT director Raimond Bartelink. "Now the amount will directly benefit our students, who can really use the help."
Bartelink says Saxion for Ukraine, the benefit to secure the tuition fees for next year for the 72 Ukrainian students, is a ‘wonderful initiative’. "We show that we sympathize with our students from Ukraine and that we think about them."
Bartelink did not only donate 500 euros from the 'Make Bags not War'. He privately pledged Jan-Chris Hullegie, lecturer and initiator of the sponsor runs on Thursday, June 30 (Enschede) and Tuesday, July 5 (Deventer), to also sponsor him for an amount of 100 euros.

Yesterday we revealed the results of our month long campaign Saxion for Ukraine. In the end, the meter stopped at 31,885.23 Euro. Not nearly our intended target, but still an incredible amount for us. But more importantly: the past month also brought something else. Thanks to all of Saxion. AMM koopt kunstwerk Belarussische Maksim; 500 euro voor Saxion for Ukraine
De Academie Mens & Maatschappij heeft het kunstwerk van graffiti-kunstenaar Maksim uit Belarus aangeschaft. Maksim (die onherkenbaar wil blijven) maakte het werk voor de benefiet Saxion for Ukraine. AMM-directeur Arjan Zemann: “Een mooie manier om de Oekraïense studenten van Saxion te ondersteunen en het is een prachtig kunstwerk.”

We hebben de oorspronkelijke termijn iets opgerekt om samen nog nét wat meer geld op te halen, maar aanstaande dinsdag 12 juli is het echt, echt zover: onze actie Saxion voor Oekraine sluit. Het was een schitterende actiemaand vol mooie initiatieven, maar in dit bijna laatste bericht ook nog een laatste oproep tot actie. We zijn er nog (lang) niet namelijk.
